Cottage Food Disclosure
Hunky Chunky bakes in a Florida home kitchen under the Home Sweet Home Act. Florida law requires us to tell you exactly what that means, so here it is in plain language.

Florida's Home Sweet Home Act permits certain non-potentially-hazardous foods to be produced in a private home kitchen and sold directly to consumers, including by mail within and beyond Florida. Cookies are one of those permitted foods.
A cottage food operation is not licensed, inspected or permitted by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and the kitchen is not subject to the food safety regulations that apply to commercial food establishments. That is what the required disclosure above means.
Hunky Chunky LLC follows commercial-standard food handling practice regardless: single-use gloves, sanitised surfaces and equipment, dated batch records, and individual heat-sealed wrapping for every cookie. None of that changes our legal status, and we are not claiming it does.
Allergens and cross-contact.
Every Hunky Chunky cookie contains wheat, milk and eggs. Several flavours also contain soy. The complete ingredient statement for each cookie appears on its label and on its flavour page.
Our kitchen also processes peanuts and tree nuts. No Hunky Chunky cookie contains nuts as an ingredient, but the kitchen is shared and cross-contact may occur. We cannot guarantee any product is free from trace nut protein. If you or a recipient has a severe nut allergy, please take this seriously before ordering.
We do not offer gluten-free, vegan, kosher-certified or halal-certified products, and we do not make those claims.
What we can and cannot sell.
As a cottage food operation we sell direct to consumers only. We cannot sell wholesale to retailers, restaurants or grocers, and we cannot sell on consignment. Florida also caps annual gross sales for cottage food operations, and we operate within that cap.
We ship to all fifty US states and do not ship internationally.
When Hunky Chunky moves into a licensed commercial kitchen, these restrictions no longer apply and this page will be updated. If you are a retailer waiting on that, email wholesale@hunkychunky.com.
Labelling.
Florida requires every cottage food product to carry the name and address of the operation, the product name, the ingredients in descending order of weight, the net weight, allergen information, and the disclosure statement quoted at the top of this page. Every Hunky Chunky label carries all of it.
If anything on a label you have received is unclear or appears incorrect, tell us at legal@hunkychunky.com and we will correct it and reply to you.
